Housing increasingly generates a lot of data, and quite a bit of research — both in the UK and internationally. Finding the right piece of insight from amongst the data, or the right way to apply a research finding, can be genuinely confusing.
We draw on decades of experience in housing, energy and retrofit to help you generate knowledge from your data and insight from your research — and to help you act on both.
HOW WE WORK
Understanding what you have: What data or research are you sitting on? We start by taking stock — what exists, what is useful, and what questions it could answer.
Scoping the question: What do you actually want to know, and what decisions will the answer drive? Getting this right early saves a lot of time later.
Analysis and interpretation: Making sense of what the evidence says — and what it does not. Knowing which findings to trust, and which to be sceptical of, is the core skill.
Presenting the findings: Clear, accessible outputs your organisation can act on. Not raw analysis — the story the data is telling.
WHAT THIS LOOKS LIKE
• Data ingestion, cleaning and analysis: turning raw datasets into usable, graphical reporting with clear narrative summaries
• Research review and synthesis: finding the relevant insight from a crowded evidence base
• Performance data interpretation: understanding what your home or programme data is actually telling you
• Evidence-led reports and briefings for policy and professional audiences
• Board-level reporting: making complex technical findings accessible to non-technical audiences
The value is not in the data — it is in knowing what to look for. Decades of experience in housing, energy and retrofit means we know which questions are worth asking, and which answers deserve a second look.
If you have data but no clear story from it — or a research finding you are not sure what to do with — get in touch for an initial conversation.
If this sounds like something you’re grappling with, we’d like to hear about it.
