Accessibility Statement

Last updated: March 2026

We want this site to be usable by as many people as possible. If you experience any barriers, please tell us — we take all feedback seriously.

Our commitment

...as architecture is committed to making its website accessible in accordance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, aiming for Level AA conformance. We believe that good design should be inclusive by default — not as an afterthought.

This statement applies to the website at as-architecture.co.uk.

How accessible this site is

We have designed this site to be accessible in the following ways:

  • All pages use semantic HTML with appropriate heading structure.
  • Navigation is keyboard accessible throughout.
  • All images that convey information include descriptive alternative text.
  • Colour contrast meets or exceeds WCAG 2.1 AA requirements for normal and large text.
  • Text can be resized up to 200% without loss of content or functionality.
  • The site does not use auto-playing audio or video.
  • Links include descriptive text that makes sense out of context.
  • An accessibility toggle is available on the About page to increase contrast and text size.
  • The site does not use cookie consent banners or pop-ups that block content.
  • PDF downloads are generated from structured Word documents and include bookmarks.

Known limitations

We are aware of the following limitations and are working to address them:

  • The case study and blog carousels rely on horizontal scrolling, which may be difficult to navigate with some assistive technologies. All content is also accessible via the individual case study and blog pages.
  • Some older PDF documents linked from this site were produced before our current accessibility standards and may not be fully accessible to screen reader users. Please contact us if you need an alternative format.
  • The Welsh (Cymraeg) translation is provided as a courtesy and has not been independently verified by a native Welsh speaker for accessibility of language.

Technical information

The public pages of this site are static HTML/CSS with no third-party advertising or tracking scripts. The Creating section — a private area for invited individuals — uses server-side processing and a login system, but is not publicly accessible. The site loads typefaces from Google Fonts — see our Cookies Policy for more detail on what this means for your browser.

The site has been tested manually using keyboard navigation and automated checks. It has not been subjected to a full independent accessibility audit. We welcome feedback from users of assistive technologies to help us identify areas for improvement.

What to do if you find a problem

If you experience any difficulty accessing content on this site, please contact us:

  • Email: hello@as-architecture.co.uk
  • We will aim to respond within 5 working days.
  • If you need information in an alternative format (for example, larger print or a plain text version of a document), please ask — we will do our best to accommodate you.

Enforcement

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) in England, Wales and Scotland, or the Equality Commission for Northern Ireland (ECNI).

Note: The public sector accessibility regulations that require a formal accessibility statement apply to public sector bodies. As a private sector consultancy, we are not legally required to publish this statement, but we do so voluntarily as a reflection of our commitment to inclusive design.

Changes to this statement

We review this statement annually and update it whenever we make significant changes to the site. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent review.
